Prospective students are welcome to visit campus to learn more about our programs, worship with the Seminary community, and meet current students and faculty by either scheduling a personal visit or taking advantage of one of our many scheduled annual visitation events offered throughout the year. Our annual visitation events give participants valuable information about formation for pastoral and diaconal ministry. There’s something for everyone, including events for prospective students who are in high school or college or who are considering ministry as a second career, as well as events for prospective students who are married and have children.

Vocatio: High School

For High School Men and Women

Explore God’s calling and direction for your life! This annual visitation event held in the summer for high school students gives participants valuable information about formation for pastoral and diaconal ministry. During this week-long event, experience the Seminary through worship, thoughtful conversations, recreational activities and sessions with professors. You’ll learn about St. Louis, participate in a servant event and attend a Concordia University System college fair.

APRIL, OCTOBER

Vocatio: Retreat

For College Students and Second-Career Men and Women

This three-day retreat held in the spring and fall for college students and second-career men and women offers an opportunity to learn more about the preparation that leads to service as a pastor, deaconess, missionary or chaplain. With an emphasis on prayerful contemplation, resting in God’s Word, and time together on the beautiful campus of Concordia Seminary, participants will focus on the spiritual and personal aspects of the decision-making process of becoming a seminarian, as well as learn about academic courses, field education, vicarages/deaconess internships, financial aid, housing and the enrollment process.

Personalized Visits

Personalized visits are intended for men and women seriously considering enrolling at Concordia Seminary, typically within the next year. Prospective students who have recently begun the discernment process or are more than a year away from potential enrollment are encouraged to attend our Vocatio: Retreat event. Personalized visits are available on select dates during the fall and spring semesters.
