Rev. Jeffrey Moore Accepts Call to Parish Ministry
Rev. Jeffrey C. Moore, director of ministerial recruitment at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, has accepted a call to serve as senior pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Orlando, Fla. He will conclude his service at Concordia Seminary on Jan. 10 and will be installed at Trinity on Jan. 19. Moore has served as the Seminary’s director of ministerial recruitment since March 1999.
“My time at the Seminary has been a wonderful opportunity for service to the LCMS and the church as a whole,” commented Moore. “This has been a time of great personal and professional growth, but I’m thankful that God has called me back to the care of souls in a congregation, which is my first love. Yet, I will really miss daily contact with the faculty, staff and students.”
Moore brought 19 years of experience as a parish pastor to his responsibilities at Concordia Seminary. Previously, he served for six years as senior pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Danville, Ill. He also served congregations in Salisbury, Mo., Chiefland/Dunnellon, Fl., and Woodstock, Ga.
Moore received his B.S. degree from the University of Florida in 1976 and is a 1980 graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. He received the Master of Sacred Theology degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1996.
“Rev. Moore has made a significant contribution to the process of identifying, informing and encouraging appropriate candidates for the pastoral ministry during his nearly four years of service at Concordia Seminary,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, vice president for Seminary relations. “The same fervor for parish ministry that made him so effective in encouraging others has also resulted in his yearning to return to parish ministry. This is the type of pastor we always will seek for service in our admissions office.”
