Mark Stern, an attorney with Witt Law with offices in Chicago and Barrington, Ill., has been named as a new Board of Regents member. He concentrates in the area of business law, assisting closely held businesses and individuals with a variety of legal matters. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign with a B.A. in history in 1993 (where he was introduced to Lutheranism through the ministry of University Lutheran Church, Champaign), and received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1996. He was elected to the Board of Regents of Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Ill., by the LCMS convention in 2010, 2013 and 2016, and he currently serves as chairman.
