Vocatio helps students consider future in ministry

Registration deadline June 1

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis aims to help students entering grades nine through 12 consider a future in ministry with Vocatio, a six-day retreat held on the Seminary’s campus June 22-27.

During the retreat, students explore God’s calling and direction through Seminary faculty-led Bible study, worship, vocation discussion and a servant event. A Concordia University System college fair also is scheduled.

“Vocatio provides an opportunity for high school students to engage with our faculty, students and representatives from the Concordia University System, while encouraging them to consider a full-time church vocation and grow in their understanding of vocation as a baptized child of God,” said Rev. Bill Wrede, director of Ministerial Recruitment and Admissions. “Many past participants are now serving as called workers in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.”

Registration for Vocatio is $150, and travel assistance is available upon request. Interested participants can sign up at csl.edu/vocatio. The deadline to register is June 1.

Vocatio is one of many on-campus visitation events for prospective students aimed at providing a preview of the Seminary’s ministerial formation experience. To learn more about Seminary’s visitation events, call 800-822-9545, email [email protected] or visit csl.edu/admissions.
