Visitation events for prospective students scheduled for 2024-25

Events available for those in high school, college, second-career

Considering a church work career as a pastor, deaconess, chaplain or missionary? Concordia Seminary, St. Louis has scheduled three on-campus visitation events for prospective students of all ages and stages of life during the 2024-25 academic year: Vocatio: Retreat and Vocatio: High School.

College students and second-career men and women can learn more about the path to full-time service as a pastor, deaconess, missionary or chaplain during two Vocatio: Retreat events scheduled for Oct. 6-8, 2024, and April 6-8, 2025. Registration for the October event closes Sept. 25. The event is free. Visit csl.edu/vocatio-retreat to learn more.

“We’ve found that coming to campus is a very important step in the process of discerning how God might have you serve within the church,” said Admissions Officer Rev. Tom Schlund. “We love having visitors come to campus to experience what life is like here in preparation for service as pastors and deaconesses.  I hope that you’ll consider joining us to take some time in God’s Word and prayer in the company of our students and faculty as you consider serving God in this way.”

High school men and women entering grades ninth through 12th can explore God’s calling and direction for them during Vocatio: High School, slated for June 21-27, 2025. Registration will open in January. The registration fee is $200 per participant. Learn more at csl.edu/vocatio.

“Figuring out the next steps to becoming a pastor or deaconess can be daunting and sometimes overwhelming for individuals and families,” said Rev. Jesse Kueker, interim director of recruitment. “Coming to campus is a great way to discern those steps prayerfully and to see with one’s own eyes how the Lord provides and that with Him, all things are possible. We love it when visitors come to our campus. We stand ready to welcome them with wide open arms, greet them, and to pray for them.”

In addition to Vocatio: High School and Vocatio: Retreat, individual visits also can be scheduled and are highly encouraged for those considering attending the Seminary. For more information, call 800-822-9545, write to [email protected] or visit csl.edu/admissions. Prospective students – as well as those who know someone who is or might be a prospective student – are encouraged to complete the Seminary’s contact form and a member of the Seminary’s Enrollment team will be in touch with more information.
