‘Disability Ministry: Theology and Practice’ Workshop at CSL
Concordia Seminary will offer a workshop presented by Bethesda Lutheran Communities titled “Disability Ministry: Theology and Practice” on Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, to be held on the Seminary campus. The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude at 3:00 p.m.
“Disability Ministry: Theology and Practice” will feature two main presentations by speakers Jack Preus and Katherine Dunbar. Preus is the executive vice president for mission advancement for Bethesda Lutheran Ministries, and his presentation is titled “Developing a Theology of Disabilities: People First.” Dunbar is the central regional director for Bethesda Lutheran Ministries. Her presentation is titled “Bethesda—Who We Are, and What We Do: A Practical Viewpoint of Developmental Disabilities.”
Participants will be able to choose three breakout sessions on various aspects of disability ministry in the afternoon.
Pre-registration by Oct. 10 is required. The registration cost for “Disability Ministry: Theology and Practice” is $60 and includes lunch and materials.
