Concordia Seminary to Hold Special Reformation Service

Concordia Seminary is pleased to offer a special worship service in observance of the Reformation at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28, in The Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on the Seminary campus. The Reverend Glenn A. Nielsen, associate professor of practical theology and director of vicarage, will be the preacher. Hymns and choral offerings emphasizing the major themes of the Reformation will be included.

As part of the prelude, the choirs of the Seminary will present Felix Mendelssohn's cantata, "If You Rely on God." The prelude will begin at 3:45 p.m. Joining the Seminary choirs is the Senior Choir of Village Lutheran Church, Ladue, Missouri.

"The Reformation accents-grace alone, faith alone and Scripture alone-are blessings that have flowed from God to the church," said Dr. James Brauer, professor of practical theology and dean of the chapel at Concordia Seminary. "We are pleased to offer this service of Word, song and prayer that celebrates these gifts to the greater St. Louis community."
