Summer Lay Bible Institute to explore today’s Christian households
How do vibrant households grow together, practice hospitality and share their faith with others? Concordia Seminary, St. Louis' Summer Lay Bible Institute, "Households of Faith," will address those questions and more from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3 in the Clara and Spencer Auditorium in Wyneken Hall.
Presented by Dr. Anthony Cook, vice president of Global Ministries for Lutheran Hour Ministries (LHM), "Households of Faith" will provide an in-depth look at today's Christian households as revealed through new research conducted by Barna Group in collaboration with LHM.
Studies have revealed much about the state of religion in the United States and how faith is perceived and discussed in public. But how is faith being nurtured in private — with the spouses, children, parents, roommates and even frequent visitors in a household? The workshop will explore faith heritages and history, as well as faith sharing.
"I am excited to share this critical research that can inform how we fruitfully minister to those families in our care today," said Cook. "Understanding the changing dynamics of today's families and the household habits that correspond to spiritual vibrancy puts the surprising findings of this research to work for us in our everyday lives and congregational ministries."
Registration is $25 and includes lunch and a copy of the monograph. For more information and to register, visit csl.edu/lay-bible-institute.
