Seminary #GiveSTLDay raises record-setting $50,558

Friends and supporters of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis stepped up once again to advance the work of the church through Give STL Day, an online giving event organized by the St. Louis Community Foundation for the benefit of St. Louis-area nonprofits.

The event culminated May 5 after a fruitful month of online giving. The Seminary raised $50,558 from 293 donors, more than doubling its goal of $25,000 and breaking the previous Give STL Day record set in 2021.

A generous donor matched each donation dollar-for-dollar up to the first $12,000 raised.

“We are grateful beyond measure for our donors, whose love and support for our students shines through in their awesome generosity,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president of Seminary Advancement and chief communications officer. “Thank you to everyone for giving so generously on Give STL Day and for helping to make our mission possible.”

Online donations began April 5 at Give STL Day site, and donors also contributed by phone and directly through the Seminary’s website. Funds raised will help the Seminary further its mission of preparing pastors, deaconesses, missionaries and other church leaders for service in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod across the country and around the world.

Since its start in 2014, Give STL Day has raised over $22 million for St. Louis-based nonprofit organizations. This year marks the Seminary’s third Give STL Day campaign.

“I can’t thank our supporters enough,” added Megan Duncan, manager of annual giving and Give STL Day campaign manager. “Their generosity will help provide Christ-centered education that will prepare our students to bring the Gospel to the world.”
