Giving Tuesday campaign sets record
$125,546 raised in support of Seminary’s mission
Hundreds of friends and supporters of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis joined together this Giving Tuesday and set another record for donations during the national day of philanthropy held the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Some 370 donors contributed $125,546 during the one-day campaign Nov. 29, exceeding this year’s campaign goal by 25% and all previous tallies for the Seminary’s Giving Tuesday campaigns.
The Seminary’s 2022 Giving Tuesday goal of $100,000 included dollar-for-dollar matching gifts up to the first $50,000 raised. All Giving Tuesday gifts raised will be used where needed most in the Seminary’s ongoing mission to prepare the church’s future pastors, deaconesses, missionaries and other church leaders.
“For an institution at which the generosity of our donors makes such an impact on the day-to-day operation of our mission, we are deeply grateful for your generous support on Giving Tuesday and truly humbled by this outpouring of friendship and gifts,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president for Seminary Advancement and chief communications officer.
The Seminary’s Giving Tuesday campaign encouraged students, faculty, staff and donors to use the hashtags #PrepareAPastor, #PrepareADeaconess and #GivingTuesday on social media to help spread the word about the campaign and to share their Seminary stories. On the Seminary campus, students, faculty and staff were encouraged to wear Giving Tuesday T-shirts to encourage the support of friends, family members and colleagues.
Seminarians offered their thanks to Giving Tuesday donors in a special video message.
