Join us for “Bach and the Art of Transcription,” a lecture by internationally acclaimed conductor, composer and author Leonard Slatkin. A guest conductor throughout the world, Slatkin is music director laureate of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO), directeur musical honoraire of the Orchestre National de Lyon (ONL), conductor laureate of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra (SLSO) and principal guest conductor of the Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria (OFGC).
The event is at 5 p.m. CT Thursday, Feb. 23, in Werner Auditorium on campus. A reception will follow at 6 p.m. CT in the Kristine Kay Hasse Memorial Library, and includes a viewing of the Bach Bible. This event is free and open to the public.
