Doing Biblical Interpretation the Concordia St. Louis Way

Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is a confessional Lutheran Seminary whose exegetes practice a conservative method of biblical interpretation that is both textual and historical, often called the historical-grammatical method. But there are various versions or iterations of this method, i.e., various points of emphasis or various elements of focus. Concordia Seminary exegetes have a specific approach to biblical interpretation, their own version of the historical-grammatical method, as it were, especially in the last 40-50 years. This lecture will take a close look at the features of this “St. Louis Seminary” approach.
