From Luther to Concord
This workshop is an examination and analysis of the historical developments in the theology and institutional life of the Lutheran churches between the death of Martin Luther and the publication of the Book of Concord in 1580. Discussion will focus on the contributions of major reformers and theologians seeking to define what it means to be a confessing Lutheran church against the changing background of European religious, political and cultural life.

Dr. Gerhard Bode joined the faculty of Concordia Seminary in 2005. Before coming to the Seminary, Bode was assistant to the pastor (2005-08) and assistant pastor (2004-05) at Salem Lutheran Church in Affton, Mo. His areas of interest include the Reformation, the history of Lutheranism, and Latin and German paleography.
